Squad-Up With Mass Effect: Andromeda’s New Multiplayer Mode

Mass Effect: Andromeda

The multiplayer for Mass Effect: Andromeda has been shown off here and now we can see just how our friends can help us in Mass Effect: Andromeda in-game

Questions on Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s multiplayer mode have been all the rage as of late since it was let loose that BioWare was not going to be having any kind of ‘beta’ before March 21st when it is supposed to hit the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. I’ve seen people go as far as claim that there will be no multiplayer at launch due to that, but I’m here to tell you that all is bupkis as we now have a good look at it all. Don’t get your little Mass Effect hearts all worked up for nothing except for the excitement that the game is almost here now. That and we have our first real look at the multiplayer mode now.

Here we have a look at Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s cooperative multiplayer mode in action where we can join three other players in what looks like a “horde mode” as well as a “strike team mode.” We will have access to all the races from both star-systems as well as the gear from all over the universe that we can see in the core game. Of course in the Horde Mode the gameplay will pit us and the team against waves of enemies that will have to take down and clear the one of five maps we’ll be getting at Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s launch. It looks pretty straightforward when all is said and done just like all other like it, just with the races and gear from this game.

The “Strike Team” mode looks to be a little mode tied to Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s single-player campaign as we will need to call them in from the Tempest to load up a strike team mission. This will place us in a different form of co-op mode, if that’s what you want as you can go solo too, where we will have some clear mission objectives to hammer out and gain extra gear that can be brought back to our single-player game. I’m going to guess that everyone that goes in gets an equal share or the same gear after the mission is complete as BioWare made no mention of how loot is broken down in these modes. That would seem the most fair as we are not going to be running and gunning against each other just yet in Mass Effect: Andromeda.

Is Mass Effect: Andromeda‘s multiplayer set up how you expected or is it a bit different than hoped? Do you think that we will all get equal shares of the loot at the end or will it really come down to who claimed what in the mission?
