Star Wars Outlaws Is Jumping On The Speeder With A Story & Release Date

Star Wars Outlaws

The universe of Star Wars is further expanding this coming August with the release of Star Wars Outlaws

It seems the rumors were true and we now have a release date set down for when Star Wars Outlaws will be hitting the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Not only a nice little release date, but it looks as if Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft wanted to make sure we had more of the story to get excited over so we can pre-order the various different versions of the game too. Different versions that will have the various DLC as usual and more of the story. If it is one thing Star Wars fans love, it is paying for more story out there. As long as it is good, I am sure we all will when the game lands on August 30th of this year.

There are a few different options for Star Wars Outlaws that you can pre-order all with the normal cosmetics and alterations we have grown to know Ubisoft to throw at us. Along with some early access to the game if we so want it and access to a digital art book. The Gold and Ultimate Editions of the game also come with access to the Season Pass of content for Star Wars Outlaws which houses two more story pack DLC to be added at a later time. All so we can further see how the universe’s crime organizations have a bit of a stranglehold on everything before and after the events of some of the films. You have to love having to pay to see the full story out there, huh…

As gamers, why do we allow developers to pull this kind of thing that we are about to see in Star Wars Outlaws with planned story DLC for the game? It is one thing if this was a planned expansion to the game that gave us all a whole different story to play using the same game to tell it, but here it is listed as more story. Made even worse when it is planned well before the launch of the full game. Other titles are able to give us more story and not charge us or tell us they are going to charge us for more. So, why do we allow titles like this to do this? Especially with the rocky place that many of the other Star Wars titles have been in over the years. Maybe it is time we make it known we want a full game at launch and if they want to add more story down the line, do it in a full expansion or something similar to how God Of War did it. Not hold it hostage behind a paywall for those who might not be able to afford the nickel and diming we still see going on.

Are you going to be pre-ordering this one to add to the rest of your Star Wars collection or have you had a bit of a pause after seeing this? Will this story play out like the many we have seen and heard in the universe or will there somehow be a shift in things to make it feel original? When can we truly fire back at all of the paid story extras we see being more of a thing out there now? Take all of that nerd rage and thought into the comment section to discuss it all and let the world know what is on your mind. We are going to keep on watching Star Wars Outlaws, so expect there to be many more updates for it. The release date is not far off now, so there is going to be a whole lot more to build up to that launch.
