Stray Dog: Nobody Cares
Get medieval with a Stray Dog in the recently announced action title Stray Dog: Nobody Cares for the PC
It looks as if we might be getting a whole new genre of action games out there, as we now have Stray Dog: Nobody Cares announced and giving us another in a line of animals with swords in their mouths kind of games. Not a terrible thing, but Parry Frames Studio is now entering into an area where we’ve had a few already. This time, though, it looks as if we are getting a dog and heading back in time to the medieval period of history. A fantasy medieval with some of the things that our Stray Dog is going to need to battle. That will certainly shake things up and give us all a fun new feeling on the PC when this one is ready to launch. For now, though, we have a little taste to see if this will be something that keeps its legs all the way until launch. Let’s dig in and see just what the game is going to hold for us out there.
In the world of Stray Dog: Nobody Cares, we are placed into a realm that has been taken over by a tyrannical legion of enemies. One that seems to be up to all of the usual evil tropes that they would be. We get to play as an unnamed dog who has been raised since a pup by a knight. A knight who also seems to be a little absent, but that isn’t the point. Our little stray dog here has been taught well and only holds allegiance to the code of arms that he was taught. That is where we pick up the blade and head out into the dark world that doesn’t care about us. Even if we will have a lot of badass moves and strikes to help ensure that we are slaying everything with a level of efficiency that most humans wouldn’t be able to replicate. It sounds silly, looks a bit silly, but that is what video games can all be about while giving us some deeper stories in the background. Have a little look and see if this is going to be one of the serious games or if you feel it’ll be another one lost to the sands of time.
Stray Dog: Nobody Cares — Announcement
The medieval age is torn by endless wars between kingdoms. The border fief Greythorn is invaded by a tyrannical legion. No gods shelter this land, no heroes rise to save folk. Villages burn under fire, ordinary lives crushed by iron hooves. Countless villagers, servants, and beasts are cast aside, forgotten and pitiless. The protagonist is an unnamed hound raised by a knight since birth. Rootless and nameless, it lingers on dusty roads beside its master, seen as worthless vermin by all. Its owner is a disgraced retired knight. He fought for the legion for decades and earned glory, yet was slandered and discarded for uncovering the legion’s dark secrets. The knight lived a lonely life with only this dog by his side. He never trained it for battle, only taught it to hide and survive far from war. The hound cares nothing for kingdoms or schemes. Its sole devotion belongs to the knight who took it in. The world dismisses it as a stray cur, yet the fallen knight is its entire world.
