Street Fighter V
During Paris Games Week it was shown that Dhalsim will be back for Street Fighter V leaving just one more character to be announced for Street Fighter V
Yesterday during the PlayStation media briefing during Paris Games Week we had some fun new news for Street Fighter V drop on us. For starters it looks like with the Beta going well for the game Capcom as set the release date for Street Fighter V as February 16th of 2016. Not that far off until we are playing the game on the PC or PS4 depending on your preference. Not too shabby and we’ll have 16 characters for Street Fighter V at launch and another six planned before the end of that year. Awesome.
Speaking of characters, we also had another new-ish character for Street Fighter V announced. Well more of a revival as Dhalsim has been confirmed to be a starting character. This leaves the rumored Balrog to crop up for Street Fighter V as a starting character and we’ll have the full starting lineup for the game. That is of course if Capcom doesn’t have something secret planned to bring us for Street Fighter V in the way of any other character getting revived or fully new characters for the franchise. I’m going to guess that will come out during the PSX in December as they do have a huge event going on at the same time.
Street Fighter V — Dhalsim
What I find interesting here for Dhalsim though is that he looks rather grizzled for Street Fighter V now. I’ve always been used to the clean-shaven version of the character and now it looks like he has let himself go in favor of keeping up with his yoga training. Still not sure how yoga allows him to spit fire and stretch out like Mr. Fantastic in Street Fighter V but I am no yogi and being super flexible wouldn’t make for a good fighting style when faced with all of the other hard-hitting characters in Street Fighter V now would it? Not at all.
How do you feel about the new look of Dhalsim in Street Fighter V here? Do his movements look a little too cartoony for you and the beard a little out of place? Who do you think that Capcom will have for us to add to the starting roster and the post-release roster? Are you still hopeful for other characters from the past to make it into Street Fighter V or do you want completely new ones? Let us know in the comments and discuss away. As things get updated for Street Fighter V we will have them right here for you so be sure to keep checking back for more in the near future.
