Stupid Never Dies
A new demo for Stupid Never Dies is out there, and it looks to give us much more for Stupid Never Dies than we might have thought
The undead are crawling their way out there slightly with a new look at Stupid Never Dies, and a new demo landing on the PS5 and PC. This is, of course, all to build the hype up quite a bit for the October 21st release date that GPTRACK50 has set down for us already. That is neither here nor there at this point, as we just get to reap all of the benefits of the wait and see what Stupid Never Dies a month before the launch. The best part: all of the progress we make in the demo will carry over to the full game. So, there is a little incentive to give it a try, even if you might forget what happened between now and then. Semantics, I guess. Thankfully, that is not all we have to look at for the game, for those who want to play it all in their first sitting instead of the demo.
The demo is nice to have out there for those who want to partake in what it is going to offer up for Stupid Never Dies, but the latest footage we have to go with that announcement does give us something fun to see outside of that. Some of the game’s bosses are on display here, and they look as if they are going to take up the roles of the classic horror icons out there. Two of them will be available to fight against in the demo, but we do have a vampire, werewolf, demon, and various other “big bads” in Stupid Never Dies coming out of the woodwork to make certain that Davy is not able to save Juliet. Even if it is a little concerning that the first two hours of the game will pack so many bosses into the mix of things. That is a worry for a different day, as it could also lead to us having a longer title to explore next month with many more bosses still not announced, or maybe to draw the runtime of the game out a little longer. I guess we will only have to wait and see.
Stupid Never Dies — First Bite Demo
Can an underdog actually save the world from the apocalypse? Well, today, you’ll get to find out as GPTRACK50, a studio founded by veteran action game developers, and publisher SEGA, have just dropped a demo for their upcoming pop-punk action-RPG Stupid Never Dies.
The Stupid Never Dies: First Bite Demo, announced during the PlayStation State of Play Showcase, is available starting today on PlayStation 5 and Steam. Accompanying the announcement, the team premiered their third trailer, which introduced more characters from the game.
Take on the role of Davy, a pathetic, lovestruck zombie, and the lowest of the low in a world overrun by powerful monsters, and descend into the depths, gaining powers with each dive, as you race to defeat KOM (the King of Monsters) and save the world – and the woman he loves.
With this first demo for Stupid Never Dies, you’ll get to experience the first two hours of the game ahead of launch, complete with the introductory cutscene and the game’s signature “Blazing Fast Growth” action-packed gameplay. You’ll get an introduction to the main “Funky Zombie Action” mechanics that power the game:
- Style Eat: Devour your enemies to steal their powers! By consuming an enemy’s core, Davy can steal their abilities, changing his appearance and unleashing a whole new level of strength and skill.
- Body Hack: Collect powerful Over-Technology (OT) dropped by monsters and visit Acelino, who can create enhanced weapons to give Davy’s left arm, right arm, head, and legs incredible upgrades.
- Davy Burst: A full stat power surge, unleash Davy’s ultimate power by generating his burst meter through repeated attacks. Once certain conditions are met, Davy’s imagination overwhelms the visuals of the real world, dramatically boosting all abilities!
You’ll also get to experience two of the bosses Davy will encounter in the game:
- Afreet: Said to have proven their loyalty to the ultimate boss, KOM (King Of Monsters), by drinking the flames of hell itself, afreets now burn with internal heat that fuels them endlessly. Their fearlessness has earned them high ranks and access to cutting-edge OT, such as an enhanced gravity control system that torments foes and even doubles as an exercise machine.
- Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers: Is he a friend? Is he a foe? Who knows! His grand cosmic duty is to discharge the waste generated by Mother Earth Gaia’s metabolism; his vibe is someone who couldn’t care less about anything. Maybe because next to Gaia’s vastness, individual worries seem too tiny. Or maybe he’s just stupid.
As an added bonus, anyone who plays the demo while it’s available will be able to carry over their save data to continue their progress after purchasing the game at launch. Defeating the entity determined to bring about a literal apocalypse is definitely hard, but, hey – getting a bit of a head start certainly helps!
Are you jumping into the demo for Stupid Never Dies to see how the game is going to fully handle it, or will you be waiting until the full release of the game to give it a go? Does it look like a good or a bad thing that we will go through two bosses in two hours, or will that only matter if we are only getting five different bosses to fight in the game? What other icons of horror do you want to see, and will all of the classics be in the mix of things when all is said and done? Let us hear all of those thoughts in the comment section of the page here. We will keep on offering up what we can for Stupid Never Dies, so please come back to the website as often as possible to see it all.
