IGN Has Shown Off The New Support For Evolve Named Cabot And He Looks More Supportive Than The Others
Last week we had our most recent hunter for Evolve shown off in the wake of the PS4 and Xbox One beta. This week we get another new hunter in the support class named Cabot. He’s a rail gun shooting, death ray wielding, orbital cloud calling new addition to the mix who also looks to be way more in the support class than any of the others that have already been announced by 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios to date. Here’s a quick breakdown of what Cabot brings to Evolve and how I came to my thought on him.
We all know that the support for Evolve is there to buff and also put the hurt on the monster as you hunt it down. From what I have seen of Cabot so far the only way the hurt is placed is based off the rail gun that he carries that can also fire through anything. Well, anything for a reduction in overall damage received by whatever is on the business end of the barrel there. This is though when all of the direct hurt seems to end as, like I said, Cabot is way more support than anything in Evolve.
The other skills that Cabot has are an Orbital Dust that calls down an orbital strike that radiates the monster ‘amping’ the tracking range and capabilities of the team as well as causes the monster to take more damage. Then there is the Death Amp laser beam that Cabot can fire off that will quickly drain the monster of health as long as it is being attacked. In the following video showing off all of this you can see that the laser practically makes the monster’s health just erode at an alarming pace as everyone digs in and takes it on.
Evolve — Cabot The Support
Unlike Abe I think that Cabot is a great addition to Evolve. He doesn’t look as broken and actually plays the role he is given extremely well. Even when you see him practically “melting” the monster’s health over time it doesn’t look as something that is an easy task but it comes with the great reward. It’s sad but I don’t see Cabot getting much play when Evolve finally launches next year as he looks more risk and reward based but for those who master his skills I can see them becoming the hot commodity for any team out there.
