System Shock Has A Final Release Date Set Down For The PC Version

System Shock

The System Shock remake is on the way still even if we have to wait for System Shock just a little longer now

Sadly, we will not be seeing the release of the System Shock remake here in March now. Not the news that any of us ever want to hear as we have been waiting to see how Nightdive Studios has been working to bring this IP back to us all. We are coming up on thirty years since we last saw this title and I know I am ready for it all. Thankfully, this is also followed up with news that System Shock will be hitting the PC on May 30th with a launch for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S to come down the line too. So there is some good news to take in with this little delay in things. Time we can use to make sure we are fully ready to play once it does launch.

The delay that we have here for System Shock is the only major update that we have for the game at this time, so do enjoy seeing what SHODAN has already thrown at us before. That and take time to make sure that your PC will be able to handle the game in a decent way too. It does not look like it is going to take too much to run this new version of System Shock, so there is some good news too. It also looks like the recommended system for the game should be something most gamers already have too. You can see the more specific details for all of this just a bit lower as we get ready to wait only a few more months to experience the game. Good things do come to those willing to wait, or so the saying is…

The wait is (almost) over. The PC edition of System Shock – the fully-fledged remake of the groundbreaking original from 1994 – will go on sale on Tuesday 30 May this year.

Nightdive Studios had hoped to bring the game to market by the end of March, but that turned out to be just beyond their reach; Nightdive Studios are after all merely human (unlike Shodan!)

The System Shock remake combines the cult gameplay of the iconic original game with all-new HD visuals, updated controls, an overhauled interface, and all-new sounds and music. From never before seen enemies and quality-of-life gameplay tweaks, to a revamped hacking system and visceral new combat options featuring a brutal dismemberment system, the System Shock remake welcomes players new and old back to Citadel Station and the arms of the delightfully villainous SHODAN.

Players use a combination of stealth, cunning, and futuristic weaponry to make their way through Citadel Station’s all-new areas; players will encounter traps, puzzles, and secrets in their quest to try and save Earth from destruction.

The PC edition of System Shock is available to pre-order via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store – and includes a free copy of the upcoming System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition for all early buyers. The newly released Steam Next Fest playable demo can be found on the respective storefronts.

Console editions of System Shock will release on PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox One and Series S|X in due course.

System Shock — From SHODAN With Hate
