New footage and pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are here, and you can dive deeper into this #ResidentEvil story now
The days are closing in until we are finally able to play #RERequiem on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC. February 27th is just rushing on up to us, and I am sure Capcom is ready to see how we are all going to take the next title in the long-running line of games. Not that the rabid fans of Resident Evil have not already been champing at the bit to get this one home to see if we really needed more Leon in our lives. I am sure we do, but it feels like a missed chance to give us all something completely new and not testing waters with another character while forcing us to watch as a loved one might be coming to an end. That is what the latest story bits we have with the gameplay are alluding to, if I am understanding it correctly.

The latest showcase for Resident Evil Requiem is out there, and it shows how past #ResidentEvil titles are driving the gameplay
Just as we have all been promised, we have a new showcase out for #RERequiem. Partially to get us hyped up to pre-order the game before Capcom drops it on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC, and partially to make sure we all know what titles from the past we should be familiar with before playing. Not just for the story, but as it seems that Grace will have some basis in certain Resident Evil titles when it comes to tone and gameplay, while Leon will have a vastly different one based on some of the other games. Grace being more of the tension and horror aspect of titles like RE2 and RE7. Leon, sadly, will be leaning into the action of things, but more like that of RE4. I mean, that is fitting, but I was under the impression that we were trying to move away from all of that. Given that it will run side-by-side, it could pay off, but that will not be the only bits of gameplay that we have to help carry us all through.

Resident Evil is coming to life with the new Path Tracing & DLSS 4 features that #ResidentEvil Requiem will house
It feels like it would not be #CES without Capcom showing off something new out there with their games, and it looks like #RERequiem is taking the stage here. That might sound weird to many, but they do like offering their games to showcase either new PC hardware or showcase a new console feature. This goes back to the day when we were out there playing Resident Evil 5 on the side of a Las Vegas strip hotel before it launched. Now, just ahead of the February 27th launch on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC, we are getting a look at how the game could look if you are rocking some of the latest graphics cards on display during #CES2026. Maybe even some of the current ones, but let us have a look.

A blast from the Resident Evil of the past will be out there in the action of the upcoming #RERequiem
When it comes to keeping secrets, it feels as if Capcom just cannot keep things under wraps, as #TheGameAwards confirmed the rumor that Leon was going to be in #ResidentEvil #Requiem. Not just in the game when it launches on February 27th for the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC, but he will be one of the main characters we will need to play in the game. Yes, Resident Evil Requiem will have the dual protagonist system that we have seen in a few of the games from the past. All to give us a bit of an intertwining story along the way and fill in parts that Grace would not be able to handle. There also seems to be a good reason for that, and not just “video game logic.” That is the more interesting part of this announcement, and look that we have at the game out of the show. Let us dig in.

A new look at the Resident Evil history is out there to get us to the point where we can preorder #RERequiem
The road to get to #ResidentEvil #Requiem has been a wild one, and we are talking mostly in the path that the IP has taken to get here after thirty years. We still have months until the game hits the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC, but Capcom wants to make sure that we all have a chance to go down the memory lane of it all. To see where the Resident Evil story all started and, maybe, guess where it is all going to end with the ninth core game in the story. That and to make sure we are ready for February 27th, 2026, when the game launches out there. Which is why we have a new look at the IP from over the years, some announcements about the preorders available for the game, and how it will be hitting the Switch 2 a little harder to make sure all gamers out there will have the top-level horror that they are aiming for with this new title. Let us take that walk down the road. #Halloween
