Terror Is Kicking Off Soon With An Early Access For Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt

Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt

Horror Stories are going to be a bit more abound here soon with Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt hitting Early Access

The joke out there currently is that we are in a time of horror now that the usual Summer holidays are over, and it is only made more legitimate by an announcement like this for Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt. This is the upcoming stealth survival horror title that Villainous Games Studio has been working on for the PC. Now, on July 26th, we will get a chance to see what the game has come with it as it heads into Early Access. Okay, so maybe not the big addition to the horror world as of now, but Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt is going to add a bit more as the team wraps up the various other elements that need to be completed for it. Happy days and times indeed.

Just as with every other Early Access game out there, Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt is going to offer up various play options for us all to experience. All while having the developers trying to work closely with the fans out there to get a true feel of what is needed in the game and what they can scrap. It does sound odd to have this one list of Roguelite elements in the mix of things instead of just having Horror Stories lean more into just the horror, but that is a term that gets misused all the time anyway. Just let us experience it all and not need to try to do better every ten to fifteen minutes instead. But, that is what we are going to be getting here, so buckle up and get ready to take the ride that the team is ready to offer up in just a few weeks from now. Fun times indeed.

Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt — Early Access Announcement

The Devourer approaches… Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt, the single-player stealth survival horror game from Villainous Games Studio, launches into Steam Early Access on July 26th. Rise as Luna Nova’s Warden and confront the shadows looming over the cursed village. Will you become the savior of the community, or fall victim to the endless hunt?

Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt takes horror in a new direction by blending the replayability of roguelites with the tension found across the genre. Step into the role of an appointed Warden tasked with gathering precious ambrosia throughout a sinister, nonlinear environment in order to seek salvation. Wardens are not alone in their search, as the Devourer lurks throughout the fields preying for its next victim. Wardens must take a deep breath and steady their heart rates if they hope to see dawn.

The hunt is ever-changing, so strategic decision-making and adaptability are vital when facing the Devourer. Before each night of the harvest, Wardens must decide how much health they are willing to sacrifice in order to gain advantageous tools found across the Farmlands of Luna Nova. Cards are drawn to determine the fate of the Wardens ahead of each night. Cards may bring peculiar abilities, a bit of welcomed luck, and modifiers that affect both the environment and the Devourer alike.

From the unnerving soundscapes to the grim surroundings, Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt features a macabre atmosphere for Wardens to embrace. Delve into the horrors of the dense, hand-drawn environments backed by a chilling score from composer Jeff Broadbent (Resident Evil, Assassin’s Creed). Become lost in the darkness, unaware of what lies in the shadows, ready to strike.

Seek salvation when Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt launches into Steam Early Access on July 26th. Throughout the Early Access period, Villainous Games Studio aims to engage with players in a collaborative development process and build a warm, enthusiastic community who all share a love for horror.

Key Features:

  • Stealth: Gameplay that focuses on sneaking, hiding, and creeping in the darkness as you find your way around the dangerous cornfields of Luna Nova.
  • Survival: Sacrifice health to gain helpful tools, face Luna Nova’s hostile environment, and harvest precious resources for the survival of your village, all while confronting a monster vastly stronger than you.
  • Strategy: Risk-and-reward situations encourage smart decision-making, adaptability, and countering different elements with appropriate tools and strategies.
  • Roguelite: Play over multiple 10-15 minute runs and tailor your deck by choosing tools that counter each night’s randomized challenges.
  • Narrative: Embody a colorful cast of characters, piecing together their stories, personalities, and the truth of Luna Nova’s curse through the fragments of the villagers’ past.

Are you going to give Horror Stories a try when the Early Access opens up or just let it be until the full release? Do you want to see try roguelite elements in the game or would you rather it be built only for that aspect? Do you think that we should just dictate the whole year as horror time and not just leave it to the Fall time instead? Take to the comment section and then feel free to discuss it all. We will share more for Horror Stories: Harvest Hunt is we can. Please keep on coming back to see and hear all of that as we get closer to the final launch of it all.
