The Dead Are Getting Smarter With A Teaser For Bureau Of Contacts

Bureau Of Contacts

Another horror title, Bureau Of Contacts, is teased to us with Bureau Of Contacts offering a new AI system for the ghosts

Horror has another title on the way to the PC with a fun little game called Bureau Of Contacts. At first, it sounds like it would be some kind of Sci-Fi kind of horror. Looking at some of the gameplay, it looks like it could be just a little scary walking simulator. Instead, though, it looks like MiroWin is placing something deeper into Bureau Of Contacts to make it stand out from those kinds of things. Something that could make the ghosts in the experience smarter and actually respond to us. All by using a neural network AI so not only do our actions need to be watched, but also things we say to make sure these entities do not start to outsmart us and lead to our ultimate demise.

It is hard to see and has explained in the following teaser for Bureau Of Contacts, but as it is described, the ghosts in this game will always be learning and be able to respond to us through this system. All as we head into the various environments and rooms to figure out what is going on and try not to get spooked too badly when one of the ghosts decides it is time for us to be scared. All with many of the same tropes and styles that we mentioned above. So, keep that all in mind when looking at the teaser here for Bureau Of Contacts as we will not be able to actually experience any of this until this Summer when it is aiming for an Early Access release out there. Then we will get to see if it will be truly as terrifying as we all want to believe it will be.

Bureau Of Contacts — Teaser

Bureau Of Contacts is a co-op horror game for 1-4 players where you confront insidious ghosts and the paranormal controlled by advanced generative AI technologies.

Planned for Early Access during Summer 2024.

What’s interesting in the game:

  • First game in which a neural network is trained to kill. It controls the ghost’s behavior, which changes based on the actions and words players say to the ghost. So, you have to watch what you say. That’s how the neural network acts in the game as an invisible scriptwriter.
  • A game where you can talk to the ghost with your voice and it will respond to you.
  • Variability of the environment and the uniqueness of the room layout are customized. This is done by the generation of “handmade” blocks.

This all sounds amazing and I have some great hopes for Bureau Of Contacts. I am a bit curious if the AI will reset with each game or just always be learning moving forward. That and if we might run into the same issues we have with other AI systems like it where humans train them in the wrong ways. Especially since this one is claiming to be able to learn and respond to our actual voice input as well as all of the other basic things. It does feel like it will be a great use for the generative AI models out there, though, so there is that. That should keep Bureau Of Contacts feeling fresh and new each time while also not putting anyone out of a job. You know, correctly using the tools and not as a final solution to save money.

Are you overly curious about what Bureau Of Contacts is going to do with all of the data it can collect or will it be another illusion we might see through along the way? How long will it take before someone teaches these ‘ghosts’ the wrong lessons and will that get wiped with each session? Will the generative AI truly be able to get past the gap and sound like something truly convincing instead of a bunch of text that sounds very robotic? Head into the comments and try not to use your own AI to discuss it all. We are curious about Bureau Of Contacts here and will be keeping some eyes on its progress. So, please keep on coming back to see and hear about all of those updates and changes as they do flow on out there.
