The Evil Within 2 Is Giving First-Person A Go Here

The Evil Within 2

A new update for The Evil Within 2 is bringing first-person gameplay into The Evil Within 2 so you can get a feel for exactly what Sebastian is seeing

There is a new way to play The Evil Within 2 coming today (2/14/18) as it looks like Tango Gameworks has given us all the option to play the whole game again in first-person mode. That is right, you will get to hop right into the head of Sebastian and see exactly what he is seeing in the game and give you a new way to play everything. I am a bit surprised that The Evil Within 2 is not getting a full VR release as it looks like Bethesda is doing for all of their huge games as of late, but maybe that is still coming. For now you can get the free update and give it all a try like other successful horror titles have done recently. That is not to say that this one has not been successful.

For those curious, this option in The Evil Within 2 can be turned on and off at any time during the game so you are not stuck playing in first-person if it turns out to not be your preferred way to experience it all. That, or given how the game was designed, you can turn it off to get through some of the fights that are already difficult with the third-person camera and the few perks that can offer up. Things like being able to look around corners without the need of actually sticking Sebastian’s head out and around. If anything, it is just a new way and reason to hop back into The Evil Within 2 again.

The Evil Within 2 — First-Person Gameplay Mode

Get closer to the nightmare than ever before in The Evil Within 2. If the horrific world and hideous creatures weren’t terrifying enough already, the entirety of the game can now be played in first-person on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, thanks to the latest free update.

If you already have The Evil Within 2, changing to first-person is as simple as flipping a switch in the menu. You’ll be able to change this at any point, so you can experience the game however you like. If you haven’t had a chance to check out The Evil Within 2 and want to try it out, you can download the Free Trial and play through the opening chapters of the game including the new first-person mode. All save data will carry over if you choose to upgrade to the full game.

“A lot of players like playing horror games in first-person, so for those who want to see some of the game’s situations through Sebastian’s eyes, it’s a really neat experience,” said Tango Gameworks’ producer, Shinsaku Ohara. “I think exploring Union in first-person makes the scale feel even bigger than it does when you’re in third-person. Also, being able to see our environments and enemies up close allows players to get an even better look at how much effort went into their designs.”

Are you glad to see that first-person mode is here for The Evil Within 2 or do you think it will be something you will not use? Could this give the same feeling that some of those other first-person horror titles were able to do or just a new reason to replay the game? Do you think that Bethesda will option a full VR version of the game or do you think they have enough already with the other games? Let us and the world know what you are thinking down in the comments and then discuss. If there is more for The Evil Within 2, we will update you here. Just keep coming back to get all of the updates we can bring you.
