The Medium Brings The Darkness To A New Level With Raytracing

The Medium

New footage for The Medium offers us all a look at more for The Medium as well as how it could look with the latest graphics cards

It the usual time for CES and with everything turning online, that means that we are going to filled with videos to showcase some of the new technology coming out and that is why we are here with something new to see for The Medium just a few weeks out from launch. I am not going to complain, but I feel like I need to preface all of it with this as the latest from Bloober Team for the game is here to show off how the game could look with the Raytracing turned on. If you are lucky enough to have a video card or system that can do that around January 28th that is. That seems like a tall order in this world, but we do have a little more to look at for The Medium with all of that and to see where the game is heading toward in the near future. Again, if we are able to get our hands on the hardware to give us this look.

If you have not jumped down to look at what we have for The Medium from NVIDIA, we have some old and new gameplay here that does not really show off much of the game besides the visuals. It is pretty, sure, but I say this for those looking to not spoil anything more than short clips of the game. Now you can step forward and have a look at how the lighting and shadows in The Medium might be adding to the overall immersion of it all. Given the level of shadows we should be experiencing in the final game, it does feel like it should be a huge selling point here. Even if it feels a little muted to me but that could just be how the compression of the video has gone and not how we will be experiencing The Maw as soon as it comes on screen.

The Medium — RTX Trailer

NVIDIA x The Medium. Thanks to our partnership, the game will utilize the full potential of the latest version of the Unreal Engine 4.25+, alongside Microsoft DirectX Raytracing and NVIDIA DLSS technology at launch. Check out how the RTX technology makes the world of The Medium even more evocative and fascinating!

The Medium launches January 28th, 2021.

Discover a dark mystery only a medium can solve. Explore the real world and the spirit world at the same time. Use your psychic abilities to solve puzzles spanning both worlds, uncover deeply disturbing secrets, and survive encounters with The Maw — a monster born from an unspeakable tragedy.

How are you feeling about the visuals for The Medium and will this all add to the overall enjoyment of the game? Did you see a vast difference over all of the other videos we have seen or will we just need to see it live before we get to see that? Will we see anything close to this on the Xbox Series X or will it only be for the PC gamers out there when they can get the hardware to run things in this way? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If we have more for The Medium, we will share it here. Be sure to keep checking in for all of that and more.
