The Nazis Of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Have Claimed More Than We Thought

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Another look at Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus shows off that the Nazis have claimed much more of the world than we thought from the last Wolfenstein game

We have hopefully all been well informed of just how much control the Nazis of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus have under their control in the game’s new world. One of the core elements of the story is that it is much more than they did back in WWII and in the first game. Machine Games has them totally taking over America for Wolfenstein II, for those who did not know already, but as it seems they have taken over almost the whole world at this point in the game. In fact, in this new interview that Bethesda has released it looks like only a small slice of Africa is not under their control at this point. Seems a bit odd that B.J. would not know this by then, but it is disbelief suspending time now.

Granted, this is on the global scale of it all and Wolfenstein II is focused more on how America is being handled here. Which, according to the interview here, it looks like that is happening in vastly different ways around the country and we will get to see more of it. Here we only get to see more of the same New Orleans and Roswell that we have seen time and time again, but now with a bit more description. I had no clue that here the Nazis have walled off all of New Orleans and left the populace there to run things Arkham City style. Maybe The Purge style when we get further into it as it looks a lot more like murder is going down everywhere and not as many clever traps and tricks.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus — Stop The Nazis. Save America!

A lot has happened in the 14 years since the Nazis have won World War II. It’s now 1961, the Reich has overtaken almost the entire world, and now BJ Blazkowicz is returning to his home to rally the resistance and repel the invaders. But this isn’t the America BJ fought for during the war. Not anymore.

This of course raises the question of what other parts of the world we will see in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and how that will all play in to the grander scheme of it all. If the world is truly under the Nazi regime at this point, can B.J. and crew actually win? America is supposed to be huge and powerful, but that was before being subverted here. Would reclaiming it truly stop all of the other nations that they control or just cause a minor setback? It does matter on how all of it plays out I guess. We will know more when Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus launches on October 27th though. If not a bit sooner based on all of the information Machine Games is doling out.

What are your thoughts after learning this about the world of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus? Do you think that the global scale of things will impact the story and game at all or will it be truly confined to a few North American cities in the end? What other locations would you like to travel to in this alternate universe that have yet to be shown? Let us know down in the comments and then discuss. We will certainly have more for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus in due time. Keep checking in on the site to make sure you are able to keep up with everything that is going on.
