The Next-Gen Systems Will Be Seeing Some New Updates For The Resident Evil Titles

Resident Evil

Resident Evil will be getting a new resurgence with the next-gen systems getting upgrades for three Resident Evil titles

Those looking to get a new Resident Evil fix out there can get ready to have three titles to go through again on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Capcom is finally giving us all what we have been waiting for with next-gen upgrades for Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, and Resident Evil 7. Slowly but surely we are getting them all again in one place so we can do those full runs some have dreamed of. Even if that could feel more like a nightmare depending on how you feel about all of these titles and the horror that is mixed in there. It only took a bit of time, but here we go with it all.

There is no date on when these Resident Evil titles will be getting the upgrade, I assume it will be around October to hit the season, but we do know that it will be a free upgrade for those that own the titles on the previous systems. Those that picked any of them up on PC will also get the upgrades for free when these drop too. All so we can add in the new ray tracing, higher frame rates, 3D audio, and other console specific upgrades too. More or less, that means that the PS5 versions will have Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Trigger support added on. Unless there is something else added to the other platforms between now and then.

Experience three acclaimed Resident Evil titles like never before when Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 7 arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. Developed using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, all three titles will tout cutting-edge features including ray tracing, high frame rate and 3D audio to enhance the immersion of the award-winning experiences. For PlayStation 5 players, all three titles also feature engaging DualSense support for Haptic Feedback and Adaptive Triggers.

Players who previously purchased Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, or Resident Evil 7 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One are eligible for an upgrade at no additional cost through the PS4 to digital PS5 upgrade option or Xbox Smart Delivery. Fans will be able to re-experience the spine-chilling horrors and incredible visuals of these fan-favorite titles on the latest generation of consoles. An upgrade patch will also be available at no additional cost for PC users.

Have you been hoping to experience all of these Resident Evil titles again with the next-gen systems or will did they do the job for you already? Do you agree it will be closer to October for these releases or could we see it all over the Summer instead? Do you think that this will change how the game feels and plays or will it just be a way to get fans back into the IP one more time? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. When more for all of these Resident Evil titles comes out there, we will share it all here. Just be sure to keep checking in for all of that and everything else we have to offer up.
