The release date for The Sinking City has been pushed out to give us a new buffer for The Sinking City and other video games coming soon
It looks like the release date for The Sinking City has been pushed out again and the wait continues. It is usually a horrible thing when something like this happens, at least for all of us gamers looking forward to the game, but it makes perfect sense for Frogwares to do. Not due to anything pointing to The Sinking City not being the game we have been expecting, but in line with the game getting lost in the mix of all of the other titles out there. That would be the reason we have been given for the delay for the most part. Something that feels odd to be thankful for, certainly, but I am glad to get breaks mixed in.
While not releasing during the big game rush of the time is the may reason given for The Sinking City‘s delay, it does sound like there will be extra work done to further improve the game during the time. I am sure that was expected as it would have been odd to have the team sitting around for a few extra weeks instead of doing work. I am sure this will be in the way of digital updates for The Sinking City post-launch given the need for manufacture time. We could be surprised with new things included in, but I am not going to hold my breath on that as the timeline is a bit truncated for the team to add something completely proper.
The Sinking City — New Release Date!
Frogwares, the team behind The Sinking City have updated their release date — June 27th, 2019
With so many games set to come out over the next few months, and after the massive AAA release overload of February, the team has decided to release their game in a less crowded time-frame. The additional time will also be spent on minor improvements and polishing the game.
Are you let down by the delay of The Sinking City or does it all make sense given the other titles and timeline it was originally on? Could we see some new things added into the game due to this delay or will it just be more time for bug checking and visual optimization?
