The Early Access for Dune: Spice Wars is now here for all of the Dune fans to head back out there and control the Spice
Fans have been waiting and now they can dive right into the war with Dune: Spice Wars on the PC. The Early Access is kicking off so you can get a taste of what Shiro Games has in the works and what they are working toward. That and to make sure that things keep a bit more balanced in this four versus four strategy title. If the game is not fun and players do not want to dive in, then Funcom is not going to want to keep the Dune IP in their wheelhouse and moving forward with any other titles that could come. I have a feeling that we could see more for this one too with the resurgence of the IP as of late. Especially when you see how the film has worked its way into the gameplay here along with the books.
You can get a little taste of what Dune: Spice Wars will have for us here in the following trailer. It does look like we will have a whole lot of lands and world to play through in the Early Access but only the four playable factions we have had announced thus far. It sounds like there will be more down the line as the development all continues, but they need to hold a little back for us to wait for. I have a feeling they will dive into all of the smaller and nuanced portions of the Dune IP, but we will need to shell out for the Early Access to make sure that does come to light.

A 4X real-time strategy game from the developers of the critically acclaimed Northgard. Set in Frank Herbert’s groundbreaking Dune universe, you must lead your faction and battle for control and dominance over the harsh desert planet of Arrakis.
Spice is the most valuable resource in the universe. The spice extends life, expands consciousness, and makes interstellar travel possible. Found only on Arrakis, it is sought by the most influential forces in the universe. Play as one of several factions, including House Atreides, House Harkonnen, the Smugglers, and the native Fremen, and compete for power over Dune and the spice.
Scan the landscape for wormsign or risk losing your troops and spice harvesters to titanic sandworms who will burst through the dunes to swallow and devour them whole. Crush your opponents in combat, best them through political intrigue, and undermine them with your network of elusive spies.
Control the spice, control the universe.
