No Man's Sky
No Man’s Sky has been truly delayed and it looks like it is not to make No Man’s Sky sync up as a world wide release
Well I hope you weren’t completely set on the day that you were going to get to play No Man’s Sky on your PS4. Even though Hello Games has been working their asses off to make sure the game comes out at their set date it looks like the game has been met with a delay. Not some minor week or two delay we are talking a massive delay in terms of video games as No Man’s Sky has been delayed a few months now. Get ready for all those tears that I personally won’t understand.
Due to No Man’s Sky needing more ‘polish’ it looks like we are all going to have to wait until August 9th now to hop into the pilot’s seat and explore the procedurally built universe out there. Apparently this has been so devastating for some out there that literal death threats have been issued for this delay and that boggles my mind more than the odd over excitement everyone seems to have for this game. I guess thankfully no one went through with the threats as that would have most likely put a permanent delay on the game.
However, as we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.
After a short delay, No Man’s Sky will launch in North America on August 9, in Europe August 10, and in the UK August 12.
We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right.
As I mentioned a few times I am not completely certain on the insane fandom No Man’s Sky has claimed based on just the trailers and descriptions of the game so far. It is like an MMO that doesn’t really have a solid story from what I can see and is pretty much a flight sim to different planets all in the race to be able to name them. It is an impressive feat for Hello Games given the small size of the team but the overall premise seems like something that will be fun for a few hours until you come across “planet penis” for the 30th time. Maybe that is a bit too cynical though.
How does the delay of No Man’s Sky affect you though? Are you outraged and ready to storm their offices or are you okay with the delay so the small team can bring you a better title? Can you explain to me the odd fascination that the gaming community as a whole has for the game based on just promo materials for the most part? Feel free to leave your thoughts and comments in the section below for them. I’m sure we can expect more on No Man’s Sky between now and August and we will bring it as it flows on out there.
