Trepang² Will Finally Be Unleashing Its Over-The-Top Gameplay Soon

Trepang²

The final release date for Trepang² is set with those looking to get back in on the blood-drenched fun of the Trepang IP able to do that in June

The wait is coming to an end for us all to get the final version of Trepang² into our hands or on our PC out there. Well, more on our PC given the state of the industry and how Trepang Studios and Team17 are releasing the game to us. That does not take away from the fact that we all have a final release date for Trepang² to mark down and get excited for. It has been a good time coming. Without gilding the lily anymore, we can get excited to see the game landing on June 21st of 2023 now. Not too shabby or too far off given the wait most of us have had to endure so far. Mark the calendars and get ready for it all now.

With the final release date set, we also have a bit of new gameplay to look at for Trepang². All to better see how it will be the spiritual successor to the mid-2000s title and give us all more of the blood-drenched fun we could want. Here we get more of the gunplay and melee combat that will do all of that for us in Trepang² as well as a little look at the campaign that we will get to explore in the mix too. Our super soldier on a mission of death needs to head out there and do what they are the best at, so it is nice to see that is going to be solidly in the mix. Also all of the otherworldly enemies and things that will be trying to slow us down as we take our steps out to help them finish with all of their living out there. Get excited and have a look at it all just slightly lower down. Save all of the extra eye movement for catching the fun in the video that is shared there.

Trepang² — Release Date

Team17 and Trepang Studios have announced that the upcoming, grisly first-person shooter Trepang² will be arriving on PC in just a few months’ time on 21st June.

A spiritual successor and blood-drenched love letter to the fast-paced and over-the-top FPS games of the mid-2000s, Trepang² features high-octane, first-person gun-fu gunplay and puts players in the shoes of a newly enhanced super soldier on a mission of death, destruction, and revenge. Broken out from a government black site by unknown allies and removed of their memories, they’ll be hunted by their captives and an even more otherworldly foe, and will have to arm themselves with an arsenal of devastating weapons and learn how to handle their newfound superhuman abilities to survive the onslaught while unraveling a deadly conspiracy.

Trepang² Key Features:

  • Over-The-Top Action: Dive into a bullet-filled world of death and destruction and put your combat skills to the test against thousands of highly trained special forces operatives who are out for your blood
  • Explosive Campaign & Horde Modes: Play through a thrilling campaign and unravel a deadly supernatural conspiracy, or take on waves of ruthless spec-ops forces and see how long you can survive
  • Become Enhanced: Master an arsenal of game-changing supernatural abilities including time distortion, invisibility, superhuman speed, and strength to dominate your enemies
  • Brutal Melee Combat: Square up to your foes in close-quarters melee combat and go full throttle in rapid-fire gunfights. Punch, kick, slide, and string together combos to reduce your enemies to dust

Was there any concern on your end that Trepang² was never going to make it to market or will the delay until this June pay off for us all? Is it odd to have only the spiritual successor out there soon or would you have rather seen a full sequel in the mix? How do you think this will all build into something grander along the way and could we get more out of this IP? Take your shot at all of the discussion that can be had down in the comment section of the page. We might have a little more to share for Trepang² and all you need to do to see it is keep checking back on the site for it. I have a feeling it will be more explosive than you might have thought.
