Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Has Been Hit With A Few Delays

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

It is being reported that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has now been met with delays pushing Uncharted 4’s release date back over a month further

The wait for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has now become a little bit longer as it has been hit with a bit of a delay. It looks like we won’t be seeing the game on the PS4 until April 26th 2016 now instead of the original mid-March release date that Naughty Dog gave us a while back. Just over a month’s worth of delay and the excuse, as usual, is that Uncharted 4 needs a bit more polish and tweaking to meet not only our expectations but that of the developer’s as well. I guess it means something when they want to push back their magnum opus for the franchise just a tad bit further.

Of course all of this comes right from the mouths of the brains behind Uncharted 4 via the PS Blog. Neil Druckmann & Bruce Straley broke the news to us all their just a bit earlier today. Not the best of Christmas/Holiday gifts to give to us all but at least this means that Naughty Dog isn’t going to be giving us some half-assed title next year and that they realize how important Uncharted 4 is going to be for everyone. At least that is how I see it to keep spirits high as we have to wait just a bit longer for the game. At least Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End wasn’t canceled right?

Here is a snippet of what the duo had to say to us in terms of the Uncharted 4 delay.

Let’s start with the good news: Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is wrapping up production and is shaping up to be the proper send off for Nathan Drake that we’ve promised you. The bad news is that we need a bit more time to finish the game so that it meets our standards and vision. Let’s cut to the chase, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has a new release date in North America of April 26, 2016.

This is our largest Uncharted game to date, and the team has been working incredibly hard to meet the challenge of closing out the game’s development in a timely manner. However, as we approached our final deadlines and started wrapping up the game’s levels, we realized that several key sequences needed extra resources to bring them to the finish line. After carefully considering all of our options, we decided to extend our schedule, making sure that we get a few more polish passes before submitting our gold master (the final disc for manufacturing).

If the sting of delay for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End hurts that bad then why not have a look at the recent Behind The Scenes video that was released just a bit before the delay announcement. It will let you see how some of those great shots we’ve already seen in the trailers for Uncharted 4 were crafted as well as keep you pumped for the game with the added wait time. We always need something to bring us back into the positive right? Well here you go.

A season of cheer it still could be for Uncharted 4.
