Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Is Delayed Yet Again…But Not As Long

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

It has been announced that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be delayed yet again but this time it is to ensure that the world will be enjoying Uncharted 4 altogether

The wait continues as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is hit with yet another delay. No longer will the game be landing on the PS4 in April but now we are look at May 10th for the release now. Even with Naughty Dog stating that the game will be hitting the gold stage of production later this month we still have another two week delay. Hope all of you weren’t so hell-bent on having the game on the ‘official’ official date that was set down before.

With the delay also comes the question of ‘why’? In this instance we are not getting the usual ‘more polish’ excuse. We are also not getting the ‘better server’ excuse either. In fact the excuse here is that there needs to be more time to allow physical production of the game to hit a nice high so the whole world can have a chance to experience Uncharted 4 at the same time. Yes, they are holding off to ensure there are enough game discs for the projected sales of the game.

Don’t believe me? Here is what was said over on the Official PlayStation Blog about the delay:

As you know, Naughty Dog is wrapping up production on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End with the game on track to go gold and into production later this month. In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.

Therefore, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has a new worldwide release date of May 10, 2016.

See, I am not making this shit up. Seems to me like there is something else going on as there is the huge push for digital sales of Uncharted 4 going on as well as the physical. Given the recent debacle of having another company’s concept art mixed into an in-game trailer I think this is more or less a “time buyer” so they can make sure there we no more slip-ups in the game to avoid issues post-launch. That would be embarrassing now wouldn’t it? None the less we have to wait two more weeks now.

How do you feel about this delay here? Does it seem odd that Uncharted 4 would need another two weeks to make sure enough physical discs were out there in the world? Do you think this is just a ploy as I do so they can make sure the whole game is ‘clean’? Let us know what you think and discuss away in the comments below. As more on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End pops up we will have it here for you. Be sure to stick close by so you don’t miss out.
