Until Dawn Gets Another Trailer To Drive Home The Butterfly Effect

Until Dawn

A new gameplay video for Until Dawn has been released to show more teenage death, horror, and the butterfly effect we’ll play with in Until Dawn

As if yesterday’s installment of teenage death and terror from Until Dawn wasn’t enough we have yet another trailer for the game. Only this time it is a gameplay trailer for Until Dawn and not a live action one. It also happens to touch upon the butterfly effect again as this is something that Supermassive Games has been pushing since Until Dawn was changed over to a PS4 title. At least to my memory. Did someone mess with the timeline and give me different memories? I have a feeling that happened but at least I still have my memory that this horror title is coming out next week and I’ll be getting kids killed with the best of them in Until Dawn.

What is interesting here with the new trailer for Until Dawn is the fact that Supermassive Games, while they have been quite about it before, have finally given a count on the different branching elements we can choose in Until Dawn. The numbers reach in the thousands according to the most recent PS Blog post. If you think about that, that means we are going to have more chosen than most gamers know what to do with in Until Dawn that many will probably be lost. How dare they give us such a freedom of choice in Until Dawn?

Until Dawn — Butterfly Effect

I am sure it is worth noting that not every one of those choices is going to have an overwhelmingly lasting effect on the play through of Until Dawn. At least I can’t imagine it being that way. In demos past I’ve been able to make two different choices during a scene that still lead to the penultimate choice that truly has the lasting option in Until Dawn. An example would be when Hayden Panettiere’s character is running for her life and she has the option to keep running or hide. Both can still lead to her making her way out to safety or doom in Until Dawn and not truly matter in the long run. Unless you really care to see all of the minute ways Supermassive Games have made each scene to play out.

Is your mind boggled with the thought of all of those choices to be made in Until Dawn? Are you curious to see how well Supermassive Games pulled it off here and still manages to murder innocent teenagers in the process? Is your gamer cave set to “horror” for Until Dawn? Let us know and keep the discussion rolling in the comments below. Not much longer but it does look like the extra promotional footage is starting to roll out pretty strong now so be sure to keep checking back for more on Until Dawn until all has been revealed.
