Virtually Dive Into The Movies With The Announcement For Action Hero

Action Hero

A new VR experience, Action Hero, is on the way and it will allow us all to take up the Action Hero role in our homes

Those looking to live out some other fantasies in their VR space can now get ready to don the helmets again and become an Action Hero out there. Which, as the name alludes to, will have us out there living out the various roles we attribute with that style of film or TV, just in a new VR experience that Fast Travel Games is putting together for us. While not the biggest of swings in the high-concept of things, Action Hero does look like it could be aiming to give us all something many of the other action titles out there might be lacking. That is even when we look beyond being able to punch raptors at one moment and defend against ninja assassins in another moment. This one does look like it is going to take a massive swing at it all.

All of that sounds like a lot of fun and Action Hero does look as if it is leaning into some of the fun motion controls in the game. All so we can take on the various challenges and live out the various movies that are placed before us. Mixing in environmental dangers and various weapons we can use along the way as well, all so we can pump out the best content at the end of the day. Along with Action Hero leaning into controls that will flow well for VR veterans and newbies just alike. It is quite easy to translate over punches and shooting for all involved, so that seems like an easy task to accomplish. I just wish that the visuals were not as cartoony as it all looks. This could be a limitation based on the hardware, sure, but that is something that pulls me out of it all when you have a look at the trailer we do have for the game. Maybe this will be updated along the way as we have seen the team offer up higher-end visuals in the past.

Action Hero — Announcement

Become the Action Hero in five genre-spanning movies. Pull off an explosive heist, master kung-fu in an epic saga, hunt for treasure in trap-filled ruins, and more.

Each movie mixes up gameplay with challenges, weapons, and setpieces. Dive under boulders, weave through laser grids, and topple enormous bosses.

Lose yourself in an immersive action experience in cinematic slow motion that lets you nail last-chance shots, deliver bruising punches, and dodge ninja stars just inches from your eyeballs.

No forced locomotion, no sudden drops, no artificial camera movement – Action Hero is a perfectly comfortable experience for VR veterans and newcomers alike.

Does all of this look like it will make you an Action Hero in the VR world now or does it seem like a little on the lower end for you? How many different scenes will there be at the end of it all and will this all be for one “movie” when we are done filming it? Will the camera movement and other actions truly be that intuitive for newbies or will it be a little rough no matter how we all slice it? Head on down to the comments and take a few shots there before diving into the discussion. If we have more to share for Action Hero, we will do so here or on our channels, so make sure you are following along so you get to see and hear all of it as it comes. You will not want to miss out on a single thing, for sure.
