We Have A New Roadmap & Some Explanations For Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077

There is a bit more information around Cyberpunk 2077 from how it was developed to what to expect in the future for Cyberpunk 2077

It would be an understatement to say Cyberpunk 2077 had the best launch it could have had. That goes between not only the consoles but the PC version of the game too. Experiences have differed amongst gamers out there, but there were issues and it looks like CD Projekt RED is aiming to take responsibility for it all and get what we all expected out there at some point. A point that looks to span the full year until we finally see Cyberpunk 2077 get the next-gen update for the PS5 and Xbox Series X in the second half of the year and most likely after the first free DLC that is planned. That is the current timeline but as we all know, things can and will most likely be delayed as we march forward.

Now that we have that out of the way, in the most recent video from the Cyberpunk 2077 developer we also get the co-founder owning up to the version of the game we all received on December 10th. Most of the focus is on the visuals and the glitches that feel like they should have been caught in basic QA. Weirdly, there is no mention of the systems in Cyberpunk 2077 that seem to have been left out or afterthoughts. Not to mention the in-game economy and other aspects that are on ALL platforms still. It is nice to hear that they are officially taking responsibility but to claim they felt like it was a game they were proud to release makes it feel like we are supposed to forget everything all the way back to the first Witcher game and all of the progress they have made over the years.

I am still holding out hope that Cyberpunk 2077 will become the game that we were all teased with during the first trailer that hyped up E3. Hells, even the game demos that I was able to see over the years during these big events that never came to fruition. I was pulled into the hype with what I saw behind closed doors and then was given a game that still spawns cars in the middle of the air or allows me to become immortal due to systems not being implemented correctly. All while not using anything but the tools the core game offers up. All of which feels like it should have been caught at the design document stage of development and not pass the final QA process.

Cyberpunk 2077 — Our Commitment To Quality

Dear gamers,

We are committed to fixing bugs and crashes and will continue to work and improve the game via future updates to make sure you are enjoying the game regardless of the platform.

We will use this space to inform you about the progress being made on Cyberpunk 2077’s further development, including information about updates and improvements, free DLCs, and more.

Below, you’ll find CD Projekt’s co-founder’s personal explanation of what the days leading up to the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 looked like, sharing the studio’s perspective on what happened with the game on old-generation consoles.

Thank you, CD Projekt RED

How do you feel about this apology here and does it have you holding out hope for Cyberpunk 2077 still? When you remove the visuals and glitches that do plague the consoles more than the PC, did this feel like a game that should have been released nonetheless? Does it make you lose faith in the company if they are claiming they felt like this was a version of the game to release instead of just dealing with another delay or even not giving a date to look at after the second delay? Give us all of that feedback down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. When we have something more to share for Cyberpunk 2077, it will be on the site. Keep checking back for all of that as we make our way through the year.
