Witchfire Gives Us An Overview Of What It Is Like To Be The Preyer

Witchfire

The Early Access for Witchfire has kicked off and we have a new overview to go along with this for Witchfire

You may or may not know, but the Early Access for Witchfire has kicked off on the PC for those that want to give this game a go before it is fully done. Some of you enjoy that kind of thing and some of you do not. Nonetheless, you have now been updated so that you can experience it as of now. If you are opting to learn more about Witchfire before you give it a shot, though, then The Astronauts have something for you too. A nice little gameplay overview to share with the world so you know what you might be getting yourself into with this title. There is a lot more than the normal first-person shooter aspect than you might have thought.

While the game does revolve around us playing as someone known as the Preyer, there is a lot more going on than the name implies. Like, this is an immortal crusader for the Christian church that has been sent out to end the life of an evil witch in the area. To do so, they are going to have to build up their internal fortitude and the supply of Witchfire in the world. This is the magical energy that flows through their veins in the game. Something akin to experience points to boost other elements of the character along the way. Given that you can end and losing all of your gear, this is something you are going to want to build up since it seems to carry along. As long as you make it to some of the safe locations in the game.

Witchfire — Gameplay Overview

Witchfire Early Access arrives on September 20th, 2023.

Here is a dive into the gameplay systems of Witchfire.

Armed with strange weapons and forbidden pagan magic, hunt a powerful witch holding the key to your salvation. Witchfire is a dark fantasy roguelike shooter from the creators of Painkiller, Bulletstorm, and The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter.

Witchfire looks like it is going to be a little more on the nonstop fighting side of it all here so that living thing could be a little rough. Especially since it looks like the Witch can alter the enemies and the environment to fit your success and skill in the game. Kind of like an adaptive difficulty setting in the world that will toss out new and harder enemies as needed as well as set up different traps to slow us down too. A nice and interesting twist to it all here while we collect the various weapons, gear, and spells that will help us along the way in Witchfire too. Thankfully, it looks like we might have a lot of magical ammo that will keep coming back as long as we keep slaying the foes and collecting their essence to fuel ours.

Does Witchfire feel like the same game we saw a while ago and is this the perfect sign of all the hard work the team has put into the game? Do you think the adaptive difficulty in the game will slow us all down or will it be something to drive less experienced players mad out there? Will you be joining the Early Access for the game or will you hold off until it is perfected out there for us all? Take those thoughts to the comments and then let the discussion flow. There should be a bit more for Witchfire now that it is out there, so please keep on checking in for those updates and gameplay segments as we can get them to you.
