World War Z: Aftermath Is Opening Up With Its New Features

World War Z: Aftermath

The pre-orders are open for World War Z: Aftermath and we get a look at the new content coming to World War Z when it launches again

The hordes are rushing at us soon in World War Z: Aftermath but that does not mean we do not have more time to get prepared for the launch on September 19th. Yes, that is still a few weeks out from now and Saber Interactive has some time to make sure it is all perfected. That does not mean that we cannot secure our copy or upgrade from World War Z right now and show our support to the team building it all. It is all available to do now and it looks like we will get a few cool items when pre-ordering and gearing up. That and it gives us all one more reason to show off the new gameplay features coming to the game with the new content in just a few weeks. Not that we need an excuse to have a look at all of that, that is.

Those that are looking to pre-order this new expansion for World War Z will also be able to use two bonus weapons, Sledgehammer and Dual Cleavers, and a bunch of new weapon skins. Well, that is if you go for the Deluxe Edition of the game you will get those items. We will all still be getting the new locations, stories, and other expansion items no matter the case. That and the new first-person mode to use in World War Z for all of these new things or the whole experience once more. It is something that I can say I wish I could toggle through before. Now I just have one more reason to head back and gear up. Now I just need to recruit a few more friends to join me in the mix of it all.

World War Z: Aftermath — Pre-Order

World War Z: Aftermath is available to pre-order today (PlayStation pre-orders begin August 26) for $39.99, but players who own the original World War Z can upgrade to Aftermath for $19.99 on their respective platforms. World War Z: Aftermath: Deluxe Edition, featuring two bonus melee weapons — the Sledgehammer and Dual Cleavers — as well as the ornate Explorer Weapon Skins Pack, is available to pre-order for $49.99.

All pre-orders include two days’ early access to the full game starting September 19.

Powered by the next generation of Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z: Aftermath lets you play with up to three friends or on your own with AI teammates against hordes of ravenous zombies in two totally new story episodes set in the city of Rome (including Vatican City) and Russia’s snowbound Kamchatka peninsula.

Key Features:

  • New Battles From A World At War: Fend for your life and make a stand against the swarm in two thrilling new story episodes — take back Vatican City in an epic confrontation in Rome, and join forces with survivors in Russia’s snowbound Kamchatka region.
  • New Ways To Fight: Decimate the undead with a brutal new melee system featuring two-handed and dual-wield weapons like the sickle, cleaver, fire ax, and sledgehammer, and experience the heart-pounding immersion of Aftermath’s optional first-person mode.
  • Deep Hero Progression: Level up eight unique classes, each with their own perks, including the new Vanguard class, armed with an electrified shield that can plow through the horde with devastating efficiency. Customize your weapons and conquer new daily missions with special modifiers for bonus rewards.
  • The Complete World War Z Experience: Aftermath includes all content from World War Z: Game Of The Year Edition, including full episodes in New York, Moscow, Marseille, Jerusalem, and Tokyo.
  • Play With Friends Anywhere: Aftermath supports up to four-player co-op with full cross-play between consoles and PC, including the Epic Games Store and Steam.
  • The Next Generation Of Zombie Action: Play in glorious 4K|60 FPS on next-gen systems. Endure hundreds more zombies on screen than ever before possible in the new Horde Mode XL, coming exclusively to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in a free post-launch update.

The true next-generation edition of World War Z: Aftermath will officially launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2022 with a free upgrade and additional enhancements, including the new Horde Mode XL.

Are you going to be getting back into World War Z in a few weeks or will you be joining in for the first time? Do you think we should have had the first-person mode from launch or did you enjoy the third-person style the whole time? Do you think that these weapons will be good enough to justify the extra costs or will you just hold off until they come out for all down the line? Let everyone know your thoughts on this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. If we have more to share for World War Z: Aftermath, know we will have it all here. Just be sure to keep an eye on the site for all of that and much more. I am sure there will be something more for us all to enjoy.
