Zombie Army VR Keeps The Story Going Further In The Virtual Game Space

Zombie Army VR

The Zombie Army story continues on with a look at how Zombie Army VR is going to add into the whole IP when it launches

The hordes of the undead are still running crazy out there as we wait for Zombie Army VR to land on the PSVR2 and the other various VR headsets we have out there. That list is massive, so you most likely have a way to play the game if you want to see how Rebellion is taking the IP into the virtual space. Not only see that but also get a taste of the story and how it will build the Zombie Army mythology even further. As long as you are not too scared to jump into VR and shoot some of those Nazi Zombies out there. They all do have very shootable heads and that is part of our job. The rest of the job will come in the latest story trailer we have for the game now.

The story of Zombie Army VR takes place after Zombie Hitler has been dealt with but now leaves the masses of the undead still roaming about. We get to take the role of one of the brave elites who have been tasked with ending this apocalypse and as many of the zombies out there as possible. All while grabbing the weapons that we know so well from the World War II era and traversing the foreign lands to many. All while killing as many of the undead out there and scoring some of those sweet X-Ray kills that made Zombie Army a blast to experience in the first place. It has spawned a lot of sequels, so you know that they have this aspect of it all locked in. Even if it is all in a virtual space now.

Zombie Army VR — Story

Zombie Army VR will launch on PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, 3 and Pro, Oculus Rift, and PC headsets via Steam in 2024!

Zombie Hitler has been defeated, but the zombie hordes are still at large, and Europe remains in the throes of war. Following the story of Zombie Army, you return to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad fighting to end the apocalypse!

Fight your way through undead hordes near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg to help Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s legendary leader, find his scattered family, and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

As you navigate the full-length, story-driven campaign alone or with an ally, you will have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weaponry including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols, and more.

VR also brings a new level of immersion to the nail-biting action of the Zombie Army series, and you will need to get to grips with using your hands to aim your rifle, dual-wield your sidearm with a submachine gun, and master reloading drills. Keeping your head and staying cool as you face hordes of enemies (including Armoured Giants, Suiciders, Sniper Zombies, and more) will be crucial if you are to succeed!

The X-ray Kill Cam returns, allowing you to relive long-range kills in slow-motion glory.

Create the Deadhunter that fits your SLAYstyle. As you SLAY your way across a zombie-infested Europe, earn XP to level up your Deadhunter and use Weapon Upgrade kits to modify the range, accuracy, scope, and capacity of your weapons.

Join up with a comrade to share ammo and medkits and compete to score the most creative executions and dismemberments.

Key Features:

  • Spine-chilling campaign
  • Authentic World War II weapons
  • Player progression and weapon modification
  • Slay alone or with a friend

This all sounds fun and I have always had a great time with the Zombie Army IP, I am just a little concerned with how the X-Ray mode is going to work. Given that this was an FPS in the first place, making the leap to VR is not going to break too many heads, but when it comes to following a bullet, this is where it feels like it could get weird. Will the game just show a video like we saw before or will with virtually hover around the bullet until it hits its mark? It is hard to say from the video so far and I know one option will make Zombie Army VR nauseating for many if they go with that. Hopefully, we do not need to wait too long to see all of that in play, be it through gameplay videos or the game launching sometime soon.

Are you ready to see how this will expand the Zombie Army story or do you think it is going to go the basic paths we have seen? Will the X-Ray mode give us different angles to look at or will we fly through the air with the bullet as we have on the flat screens? Will any of this lead us to have a full new game on the other systems too or will it all be virtual reality moving forward? Head down to the comments and shoot out your thoughts on it. There will be more for Zombie Army VR when we have it here, so please keep on checking in for all of that and everything else we have to offer up. It should be a fun old time out there.
