A New Look At The Vast Empty Of Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture

Everybody's Gone To The Rapture

Thirteen more minutes of gameplay for Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture have been released to show off the vastness of the game’s world and AI

Yesterday we had a nice little look at the tone of Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture as well as a bit more to the soundtrack of the game. Santa Monica Studios and The Chinese Room are really hitting that loneliness angle home here as even the gameplay we have only shows how big the game’s world will be and how empty it will be. You know, because Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture. There shouldn’t be too many humans still running around the Earth and all right? None the less we have a great look at what to expect to spend hours walking around in.

It is worth noting that Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture is going to be using the free-flow style when it comes to the storytelling in the game here. That is you don’t have to sit through cut scenes and the story doesn’t really have branches that the player doesn’t choose. There is even talk about little hidden portions of Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture‘s story hidden in electronic items in the games world that we can choose to search for a story expansion. Standard fare when it comes to in-game collectibles only it isn’t filled with a lot of reading text.

It is also interesting to hear the developers talking about the AI in Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture and how it has been designed to guide you but feel extremely organic. Like you always have the option to ignore the guides without being bombarded with an umpteen amount of reminders to go one way or another. That does get annoying really fast in games and I am curious to see how Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture deviates from that with their AI. Or maybe they are whistling Dixie…

Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture — 13 Minutes Of Gameplay

It’s vast and it’s empty but does Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture grab your attention as I am sure Santa Monica and The Chinese Room want it to? I know I am a bit more intrigued by the premise and look. How about you? Let us know down in the comments and maybe we can start to have “first looks” on the site soon.
