Aliens: Dark Descent
Those looking to hunt down another Alien out there can get excited with the release date for Aliens: Dark Descent
Get ready to take command for some new Colonial Marines this June 20th, as that is now the release date for Aliens: Dark Descent. This would be the real-time strategy title coming from Tindalos Interactive and Focus Entertainment and not one of the others coming from the IP we have had announced. There are a whole lot of Alien games on the way, so we need to be sure to know which one we are talking about here. How else will you know which one you need to add to your PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or PC out there? If you were not planning to add them all to the libraries in any instance already…
Now that the release date is out of the way for Aliens: Dark Descent, let us dig into the gameplay that we have to look at to get us hyped up for the game. Gameplay that runs the usual RTS style with a larger focus on the 3D environments and other horrors the IP is well-known for. We will then be able to give commands to the squads out there to tackle the problems that we see and navigate the terrain. We are going to need to be careful on all of this, though, as, unlike other RTS titles, these are not just expendable units we are sending to their deaths. We have perma-death in Aliens: Dark Descent and since we will be building each of our team members, it is going to hit home a lot more when the xenomorphs take them down. Hells, it could also be some of the random bystanders and environment that do that if we are not keen on our commands placed out there.
Aliens: Dark Descent — Commented Gameplay

Alongside the release date, the first gameplay video for this terrifying original tale set in the iconic Alien universe was also revealed, breaking down what players can expect when your ship crash lands on the planet Lethe.

Outsmart the Xenomorph threat and unearth Lethe’s secrets
Recruit, level up, and command your squad of Colonial Marines in real time as one unit with intuitive controls on both keyboard and mouse or controller. Watch how commands issued over comms are swiftly obeyed by the marine best equipped for the situation according to their abilities and equipment. Players will need to use their wits to navigate expansive, persistent, and reactive levels and complete objectives. But be cautious and monitor each marine’s vitals – death is permanent for any who fall in combat.
Do you like that we will have perma-death in this game and does it build further on the horror that the Alien IP has always had? Do you like the three-quarter view we will have here and will that immerse you deeper into it all or would you rather just have the typical top-down view RTS titles usually have? How deadly do you think the rest of the world will be out there and will we have to worry about every little step we take along the way? Tell us all of your thoughts on this and everything else you feel to share out there down in the comment section. We will keep sharing all that we can for Aliens: Dark Descent, so please keep a keen eye on the site and everything else we share out there too.
