The story for Death Relives is expanded a bit more with Death Relives still leaving a lot to the imagination
The story has been a little vague for Death Relives, and it looks like we are going to be getting a little more to it all today. All while Nyctophile Studios also gives us a little look at the gameplay for the game. A nice little way to expand things and show off how Death Relives might be looking when it does hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That is still slated to be some time in the next few months, but there is no solid release date for it currently. That all said, let us have a look at the extra bit of story we have to dig into here. It will require a bit of some examination, though.
In the following video for Death Relives, we get to see our character Adrian going through more of the horror and fantastical elements we are going to be getting as Xipe Totec aims to sacrifice us. Adrian is trying to find out what has happened to his mother and Xipe Totec wants nothing of that. Adrian now has to gear up and use a mystical shotgun and blade to survive the onslaught of weird beings also trying to help Adrian finish with all of his living out there. Sadly for Adrian, Xipe Totec knows about his mother and is going to use her to try to goad Adrian into the sacrificial state that is deemed. A weird thing to see, but you can spot all of that just a little lower down on the page for your viewing pleasure.
Death Relives — Story
Be prepared for a first-person look at life through the eyes of a teenager who is trying to escape from the mighty Aztec god Xipe Totec. Get ready for a chaotic experience with horror and survival mechanics.
Death Relives is a first-person survival horror game developed by a team that loves mythology and horror. Run, hide, and survive. That’s all you can do, but it won’t be easy while an Aztec god-like Xipe Totec is after you.
Adrian was an ordinary teenager getting ready to celebrate his graduation until he decided to follow up on what had happened to his mother. Xipe Totec is a mighty Aztec god who just wants sacrifices for his grace, and Adrian is about to discover something disturbing about his mother’s death.
While this video for Death Relives does not go hard on the story we did not already know about the game, it does show off some fun bits of the game to enjoy. It all feels like it is a pre-rendered thing but running in the game engine. It is interesting to see that some of the creatures only can attack us while we see them but also nice to see a character using their surroundings to help out in the fight. The magic shotgun looks like it will be a blast, pun intended, when playing Death Relives too. I am stoked to see where all of this goes and maybe we will see how an Aztec horror story could play out. Even if it feels a little off from my memories of the stories out there…
Did you gather the same story beats for Death Relives as I did or did you just enjoy the fun gameplay? Do you think that there is more to the shotgun than we know or is it all a fun style thing to make us think there is more to it? How often will we need to shield our eyes in the game or is that something just to build the tension of this scene? Head to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to offer up out there. More will come for Death Relives, so please keep on checking back for those updates and many more as we head into the future out there.
