Delays Strike Again And This Time It Is For The Division

The Division

The Dev Team for The Division has just announced that the game will be delayed until 2015 now.

Looks like we are going to have to wait even longer for The Division as it has been delayed until 2015 now. The reason behind this is…well not fully defined. If you look at the official statement about the delay below you will see that they claim that it is not to compromise quality of the game but there is no real definition there either. Not even the generic “it needs more polish” kind of excuse. All that is known is that we will not be seeing The Division until sometime in 2015.

I find this a bit odd given what has been shown for The Division thus far. The engine looks spectacular. The physics look as life like as ever so far. Even the overall story of the game seems very well done. So what could be the delay? I hope it isn’t along the lines of trying to wedge in some kind of multiplayer into the game that may not be needed. I know that most of us can’t stand when that shit happens in our games and I really hope that Ubisoft isn’t forcing the developers to force something that most of us would be fine not having as long as we get a good overall game in general.

I guess we will have to see what will be shown at E3 as also stated here for the The Division‘s delay. If it is anything like what happened with Watch_Dogs we will most likely be seeing a huge gameplay feature being shown that wasn’t completely done and this will be listed as the cause. We won’t know until then unless someone comes forward and lists the full reason and not just the general “not to compromise quality” reason. Keep an eye here as we will update as we get new information.

Agents,

Today we announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division will be available in 2015 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of and we don’t want to compromise on quality. We are going to release the game when it’s ready.

We want to thank you again for the exceptional ongoing support. Community is at the heart of what we are doing and we’re very much designing the game with you in mind, so your involvement means a lot to us.

The production is getting stronger every day and we can’t wait to show you what we’ve been up to at this year’s E3. 🙂

Massive love,

The Dev Team
