Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew Is Letting Us All Further Mod The Game

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew

New modding tools for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew have been added to the game so PC gamers can expand the world of Shadow Gambit more

Just when you thought our crew of misfits were done in Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, we get a new update that makes it seem like we will be able to go on for generations to come. In a nice little announcement for those with the PC version of the game, Mimimi Games has dropped out official modding tools for the game. Just in case you did not want to have to go through any back channels to do this or hope to find some shady download for Shadow Gambit to give some of the crew big heads, now you can have the option to do this too. That and many other things with it sound more like they are giving the fans the tools to make their own game with it too.

As you will be able to see below, Shadow Gambit is opening things up a bit more and not only giving fans the chance to do this, but an easy way to share it all in the game too. For PC gamers, at least. While we see a bigger focus on giving weird looks to all of the characters in the game, it does look like we have some map-building tools, mission mission-building tools, as well as the option to make our own cutscenes in the game too. Something that goes well beyond the basics of modding out there. Have a quick look at what is all coming in the following video.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew — Modding Tool

The free “Modding Tool” update for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew is now available on PC!

This new feature puts the creative powers in your hand: Build custom missions, forge your own stories, and share your mods with the community!

This is nice and all, but what about those gamers who want to get in on the modding for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew but lack the skills? Sure they could just wait for the community to do all of this, but they are not going to have to if they do not want to. That is, there are also a few tutorials and full builds out there from the team that brought us Shadow Gambit so you can get set up and walk down the path of being a designer of sorts. We have a few of them below to offer up, but I am sure will see many more down the line. At least until the studio closes its doors for good after the holiday season.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew — Modding Tool: Building A Mission Step By Step

Yeah, I bet you forgot that the team that made Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew was shutting down operations out there. Not due to anything negative for the game or development cycle, but more so they are not forcing the teams to keep churning out content for the title. They all have lives and they are getting freed up to follow all of that, but it does feel odd that they are dropping the tools for us all to make the fun going forward. A mixed feeling as I do wish more games would do this, but at the same time it feels like they do not want Shadow Gambit to die. Why now and for how long will we get these videos helping everyone else build on a game that is being left behind? Maybe I am being too cynical of all of this though…

Have you already dropped in your own mods for Shadow Gambit before these tools were released or were you hoping this was coming? Is it odd to you that they were ready to put the IP behind them but now opened up a new way to keep engaging with it all? Will this spawn a whole different game as the modding community hops in or will it just be something that is dabbled with and then the game is lost to the sands of time? Head to the comments to discuss it all and then let the world know what mod you have in the works. If we get anything further for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, we will offer it up here. Please keep on checking in for those updates and many others still to come.
