This Week In Video Games 7/27/26 — 7/31/26

A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of #videogames on the site this week

We were finally able to get back into form around here and cover so many video games, and so many non-game-specific things around here. We are fresh off the #SDCC train, and there was so much going on out there that we had to dip into. Things like #StageTour and Marvel’s #WolverinePS5 for starters. Then some of the non-video games things like our interview for #DungeonCrawlerCarl and a look at everything going down for the upcoming #ResidentEvilMovie. Okay, that last one is a bit of a straddle between all of the media, but it still counts as us going outside the norm for just gaming. Not to mention one of the bigger highlights we had during #SDCC2026.

 

SDCC Interview — Matt Dinniman & Jeff Hays For Dungeon Crawler Carl

We had a chance to sit down with the talent behind Dungeon Crawler Carl during SDCC and got some insight into #DungeonCrawlerCarl and the audiobooks

If one new IP was able to take over #SDCC this year, it was certainly Dungeon Crawler Carl. A relatively new book series that I am sure you have heard a few things about, or seen a few of the memes on the internet. As long as you are into the video game space, or the gaming space in general. If not, then get ready to learn a bit more about the IP, as Audible had us out to interview the writer of Dungeon Crawler Carl (Matt Dinniman), along with the main voice talent (Jeff Hays) for the audiobook version of the series. It was short, sweet, and gave us a feeling for how the IP could be going forward in all of the various interactive mediums out there. Let us get this interview started for you. #SDCC2026 #Audible

 

Audible Will Offer Up Some XP At SDCC As We Head To The Level Up Lounge

Audible will have a fun activation at SDCC for those who want to earn some XP out at #Audible’s Level Up Lounge

The fun out at #SDCC is just starting to ramp up, and it looks as if Audible will be heading out there to help us all level up our game. As long as you can make it out to the area and are looking to lounge it up during the convention weekend. All to help them promote the fun audiobooks for #DungeonCrawlerCarl, #HeadsWillRoll, and #Bobiverse. This is all in addition to the various panels and other little bits of fun Audible will be out there with. Things like a fun little food truck filled with Princess Donut’s donuts and a place where we can all record our own Crawler Incident Report. Along with having a solid little location to kick back and enjoy some of those good little reads and listens for all of the sci-fi and fantasy one could want out at the massive pop culture convention.
