A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of #videogames on the site this week
Just as we were expecting, this was certainly a full week of video games. Some of it is catching up from all of the big announcements we did have, while also offering up some other games that were left out of #TheGameAwards, as they would not drive money to the show. Titles like Clive Barker’s #HellraiserRevival and #Painkiller, even if others like #Divinity and #WARLOCK hit on the harsher themes and mature content in the same ways. It is kind of why you still need some of the mavericks like us out there covering the various video games that are not going to be big news for the “mainstream.” Gods, I hate that we are in this timeline of things where that needs to be the case.

Learn more about the new Invincible character, Elle Mental, as we dive deeper into the world of #InvincibleVS
While Elle Mental was put on display when we had the release date for Invincible VS, that is still April 30th, 2026, we did not have much else go on for the character. She is a new one made just for the game with all of the input from Skybound Games to help shape her, but we learned nothing much beyond that. Maybe some moves and that she will bring more of the power of the elements to the matches, but nothing in terms of who she is within the #Invincible universe. Given that the graphic novel’s creators were all onboard with the first appearance being on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC, this is going to be her big debut, so it is time to dive deep into the character and see a whole lot more gameplay to help shape her up.

The week has finally dragged itself over the finish line here, and we did end with a rather solid bit for all of our video games. #TheGameAwards usually does that since the powers that be helped to kill any of the usual conferences we used to have for their own glorification. Ignoring that, we did have a big update for #RERequiem, #ShesLeaving, and #InvincibleVS out there. Along with many other video games that were not as big as the others, but still worth the time and effort from all of us. Just because they do not have all of the power behind them as the AAA, does not mean we should not give them all a highlight. Then, maybe we can all stop complaining about getting the same thing over and over.

Another character joins the roster for Invincible VS, as we also find out when all of these #Invincible characters will be fighting
The news keeps on pouring out from #TheGameAwards, and this new bit for #InvincibleVS packs a one-two punch for those looking forward to the fighting game. One punch coming from a new character that Quarter Up has ready to put into the fight. All to be hit with the second punch that Skybound Games is getting Invincible VS ready to land on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC this coming April 30th. As long as everything keeps on going as planned out there, at least. Things can and do change often, but for now, that is the release date we have. Now, let us have a look at the new elemental fighter we have joining the other 18 fighters in the mix. Get ready for another fun pun to go with it…

The day for all of the horror video games to be played is here, #Halloween, and it also happens to cap off the week for so many out there. Some of us actually get the day off to do all of that and try to lean into the hobbies more than work for the day. Hence why we had so much during the week and up until the end, when we are going to be digging further into all of those spooky things. Like the horrors of #Beneath, or watching more for #RERequiem. Maybe even dabble a bit more into #PoppyPlaytime, and getting ready for #Directive8020 to fully launch out there. That is on top of all of the other horror video games out there right now, nighttime parties, and scaring each other to celebrate the dead coming back to the land of the living.

Two more Invincible characters are joining the fight when #InvincibleVS releases to us all next year
It looks as if the treats are coming early for this #Halloween, as we have two more fighters coming to us for Invincible VS when it hits the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC in 2026. Two more that are coming from the pages of the comics and the screen for the show, with Skybound Games making sure they are a perfect fit for it all. Those characters are Monster Girl and Robot, for those who might have missed all of the clues up until now. Some amazing characters we have seen grow in the #Invincible universe, and now they will test their skills together and separate as the fight carries onward. Even if it still feels odd to have them facing off with the god-level characters that have already been introduced to the game before now.

The next character for Invincible VS is announced, and it is one of the #Invincible characters you might not expect
It has been a good clip of time since we had a new character announcement for #InvincibleVS, and here we are to build that roster out more. Even if this does not feel like the character many might have been expecting Quarter Up and Skybound Games to drop into the game. It is something new, and now we get to see as Cecil Stedman gets to leap from the pages and screen of Invincible over to this fighting game. All when it launches in 2026 for the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC. A really weird choice, given that he is just a normal guy, but the new gameplay we have might show off how Cecil can hold out with the best of the fighters that are coming to Earth.
