We are finally able to launch into space with a new horror experience, as Directive 8020 has finally hit the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC in its full form. We had a chance to see all that Supermassive Games had to offer in this latest outing into The Dark Pictures Anthology to see if we can still scream in space. Well, a fictional space and future that we have yet to see out there in the real world. That is why we get titles like Directive 8020, so we can all fear the unknown and be ready to fight back if things do go sideways. Something that truly happens in the game, and now we are here with our #review to let you know if you should take flight with this experience, or let it sleep forever in the cryochambers that we will need to safely travel the universe out there and find these horrific aliens that we usually find in our sci-fi stories. #TheDarkPictures

The time to lift off for Directive 8020 is getting closer and closer, so we need to know what we are all going to be getting ourselves into when May 12th gets here. Not that Supermassive Games has not been great about offering those details up to now, but it is always nice to get a refresher. You will not want to load the game up on the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, or #PC without all of that knowledge. Hence, why we are back with one more look at Directive 8020 with something that will tell us everything we need to know about the game before then. At least in terms of the gameplay and features, and not much more on the story. We have seen how things might look on the #PC when it comes to the high-end hardware options, and now it is time to see how Directive 8020 will look and feel on the #PS5 Pro. As long as you are in this all for the visuals of the game and not the rest of what Supermassive Games has tossed together for us. Especially since it looks like the #XboxSeriesX|S gamers will have just the standard look at Directive 8020. Unless there is some big update coming to the hardware that we are not aware of before May 12th when the game launches. Luckily enough for all of us, no matter where you are playing the game, we have a little more gameplay to look at as this new showcase plays out.

It looks like all that we were speculating and hoping for in Directive 8020 is coming to light when it comes to the multiplayer for the game. It has now been confirmed that Supermassive Games is bringing back the Movie Night mode in this one, keeping The Dark Pictures mode alive. Not only that, but other lessons that they have learned in other titles will be showing up, too. That is to say, Directive 8020 will also have the Turning Points mechanic added into it all. Not just for the solo play, but even for the multiplayer aspect of the game. At least when it comes to the local version of the game when it lands on May 12th for the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC. The online part will come a little bit after all of that. For now, let us discuss what all of this means for the game.

 

Directive 8020 I Launching Out There With Some Fancier Path Tracing

There was some big news out of GDC this year and it is all about some of the new path tracing tech that PC gamers will be able to see, with Directive 8020 adding to the list of titles out there. This is not overly surprising given how Supermassive Games has always been trying to push forward and evolve their methods. At least, that is how I have always seen it from their titles. Now, on May 12th, those who are playing Directive 8020 on the #PC and have the latest Nvidia hardware installed with the coming updates, you will get to see the full game with these path tracing elements and the DLSS 4.5 reconstruction. Those who will be playing the game on the #PS5 and #XboxSeriesX|S, sadly, will just have to settle for the following look and other videos uploaded from those who have the hardware.
