Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries

Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries to be at Gamescom and playable in the consumer area for the first time to the public

If Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries sounds familiar but you can’t place your finger on it, it was showcased during the ID@Xbox montage during the Microsoft press conference on June 9th. Some of you may have heard about the game before that, have a free cookie, but to the public at large that was one of the largest showcasing of the game to date. It was announced a little under a year ago so it is pretty cool for the developers to get the showing at E3 and now Woolfe is getting a nice playable version at Gamescom.

That might not be all that cool for a lot of us who will not be able to make the adventure to Gamescom, assuming most of my readers are in the North American region of course, but that does mean that we will be seeing more video from Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries soon. My hope is that this will kind of fix a bit of perception out there that this is just a knock off of Alice from American McGee but even the latest screen shots and the video that was shown during E3 have placed even more in that corner. Have a look just in case you missed it and want to get caught up as I am.

I am prepared to have a look at off screen video of gameplay for Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries as I am sure it will be leaked or let loose to the public shortly after it is on the floor of Gamescom. My reasons are two-fold, one being the above comparison and the other a bit more personal. On a development level personal as Woolfe seems a bit too close to comfort for an IP that I was working on a few years back in college. An idea that could have been pilfered and re-purposed. Just something I would like to see more of I guess but that is my paranoia coming out.

Currently Woolfe: The Redhood Diaries is slated to release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC sometime in 2015. Much like every other title that has been shown here as of late. At least we all know that early 2015 will be filled with a whole load of titles to make up for the lull in 2014.
