This Week In Video Games 10/27/25 — 10/31/25

This Week In Video Games 10/27/25 — 10/31/25

A lot has gone on this week in video games. Here is a recap of what we covered in the world of #videogames on the site this week

The day for all of the horror video games to be played is here, #Halloween, and it also happens to cap off the week for so many out there. Some of us actually get the day off to do all of that and try to lean into the hobbies more than work for the day. Hence why we had so much during the week and up until the end, when we are going to be digging further into all of those spooky things. Like the horrors of #Beneath, or watching more for #RERequiem. Maybe even dabble a bit more into #PoppyPlaytime, and getting ready for #Directive8020 to fully launch out there. That is on top of all of the other horror video games out there right now, nighttime parties, and scaring each other to celebrate the dead coming back to the land of the living.

Chapter Five Is Lurking In The Shadows For Poppy Playtime

Chapter Five Is Lurking In The Shadows For Poppy Playtime

The fifth chapter for Poppy Playtime is on the way, and there is a new teaser for this part of #PoppyPlaytime just for Halloween

The Playtime facility is about to pull us all back in, with the announcement and teaser for Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 dropping into our video game candy bags just before #Halloween night kicks off. I’m sure there was some extra method to this madness from Mob Entertainment, and I’m all for it here. Especially as it looks like we are going to finally get to play through the aftermath of the last four chapters of Poppy Playtime in this one. Even if it does seem as if there is something even darker roaming about and pulling the strings out there. All on the #PC when it is ready, and we can presume that it will head to all of the consoles at a later time, just as all of the other chapters have. Once we have that update, it will be here. Now we’re just going to dive into the facility again and see what horrors are on their way to us in the new chapter.

I Hate This Place Will Be Telling Us A Story At A Different Time Now

I Hate This Place Will Be Telling Us A Story At A Different Time Now

The release date for I Hate This Place has been pushed, but we have a little more of the story coming with #IHateThisPlace

Not the best treat to have for #Halloween here with a horror game, but it looks as if we are going to be waiting a bit longer to play I Hate This Place now. Not that it was supposed to be out for the spooky day, as it was set to release by Broken Mirror Games on November 7th for the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch. and #PC. It looks like Rock Square Thunder is thinking differently on that, as they need more time to make sure that I Hate This Place is up to par for what gamers are demanding out there. That is why they have made the choice to push it out to January or 2026. Only a slight delay, but one to take note of since you will not be playing this one next week if you had any plans on that before now. It is a bit of a downer, sure, but one that I know will pay off for the game.

Directive 8020 Brings Us Face-To-Face With Death & RTX On

Directive 8020 Brings Us Face-To-Face With Death & RTX On

A new look at Directive 8020 is out there to give us all a better look at the visuals #Directive8020 might have when it launches out there

Well, it is #Halloween, which means we are getting all of the spooky game updates today, and here we go with another that will not be launching until 2026 with Directive 8020. A title that we should have been able to play by now, originally, but Supermassive Games needed more time to perfect it for the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, and #PC. Not a terrible thing, and maybe it will give us all some fun extras in the mix to enjoy. Extras and some improved visuals for Directive 8020 if you have a system that can run things at top-tier. Which is what we have here to show off for the holiday and give you all a nice little treat. Let us see just how the game will run when all the RTX features are turned on, and just how optimized the team has the game thus far.

It’s Always Happy At Chubby’s Is Looking To Hire On Some New People

It’s Always Happy At Chubby’s Is Looking To Hire On Some New People

Applications are open for Chubby’s, as we have a new horror game announcement with #ItsAlwaysHappyAtChubbys

A new restaurant is opening up for our gaming needs, with the announcement we have for It’s Always Happy At #Chubbys. A new title on the way to the #PC coming from Pixel Maniacs to offer up a new job simulation game that will have us all fighting for our lives out there. Just as we have seen with a few others like it, with Chubby’s being a hamburger shop and so many strange things going on during the day, and even worse things going on at night. Just with this one, offering up a more realistic view of things than we had with some of the others. Even coming from an indie developer, too. All of that is fun to know, but now we can look at some of the in-engine footage and gameplay that we are going to expect to have. Maybe even for next #Halloween when it rolls around.

Resident Evil Requiem Walks Us Down The Road That Brought Us To The Latest Game

Resident Evil Requiem Walks Us Down The Road That Brought Us To The Latest Game

A new look at the Resident Evil history is out there to get us to the point where we can preorder #RERequiem

The road to get to #ResidentEvil #Requiem has been a wild one, and we are talking mostly in the path that the IP has taken to get here after thirty years. We still have months until the game hits the #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, #Switch2, and #PC, but Capcom wants to make sure that we all have a chance to go down the memory lane of it all. To see where the Resident Evil story all started and, maybe, guess where it is all going to end with the ninth core game in the story. That and to make sure we are ready for February 27th, 2026, when the game launches out there. Which is why we have a new look at the IP from over the years, some announcements about the preorders available for the game, and how it will be hitting the Switch 2 a little harder to make sure all gamers out there will have the top-level horror that they are aiming for with this new title. Let us take that walk down the road. #Halloween

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Has Launched Out There For Another Flawless Victory

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection Has Launched Out There For Another Flawless Victory

The launch for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is finally here, with many of the #MortalKombat titles flowing out to the world again

The fighting has started all back up, with the launch for #MKLK on the PS4, #PS5, #XboxSeriesX|S, Switch, #Switch2, and #PC. Now, we just get to fight over which system we will be playing the games on now that Digital Eclipse has made sure we are not fighting over turns at the arcade cabinet for these titles. I remember those days… and now we are getting back to some of them. Even if we can play against each other on the various systems, so it will truly just be our personal preference on which one we are reliving our Mortal Kombat journeys on. For some, you might just be starting your journey with these eleven titles, with some of them almost being lost to the sands of time out there. #LegacyKollection
